Kellie Gillespie is a sculptor and interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, CA, dedicated to exploring innovative concepts in sculptural installation. Her work addresses mental health, recovery, and survivorship, aiming to destigmatize these topics and foster open dialogue among those affected by mental illness.
Gillespie earned her MFA from the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2022, and she was honored with the Perna Krick ’31 and Reuben Kramer ’32 Fellowship. Her recent project, over/medicated/under, has gained global recognition, frequently published and showcased in significant exhibitions. In 2023, she held her first solo show in West Hollywood and an international exhibition in Manitoba, Canada. Additionally, she was a guest on the podcast Not as Crazy as You Think, discussing her artistic process and personal experiences.
