Zoe Gunter (b. 2004) uses slow and soft processes, such as crocheting, knitting, sewing, and quilting, to explore themes of personal reflection and joy. Born in Houston, TX, Gunter first discovered her passion for fiber arts through crocheting in high school and is now a BFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While exploring slow making techniques, she is able to discuss the themes of personal reflection, girlhood, and critique fast fashion. While Gunter’s work has a cutesy look to it, she explores bold ideas that compel her audience to look closely at her intentions through her processes and materials.
